WAI-ARIA
The document WAI-ARIA explains how to make Web content and Web applications more accessible to people with disabilities.
It helps in particular to make accessible dynamic content and advanced user-side interfaces developed with Ajax, HTML, JavaScript and all related technologies.
Currently, some features used in Web sites are not available for some users with disabilities, especially those using screen readers and people who can not use a mouse. WAI-ARIA provides answers to these new needs Accessibility, for example, by defining new methods of programming features to inform anytime assistive technologies of their role and status, and thus enable disabled people to interact with them via their assistive technology .
With WAI-ARIA, developers can create Web applications accessible and usable for people with disabilities. |

CEN Workshop Agreement No. 15554 [English version pdf (207.0 KB)]
At the request of the European Commission, the project Support EAM organized a CEN Workshop over a period of one year from April 14, 2005 to April 15, 2006.
The objective of this CEN Workshop was to obtain a first level European consensus on a European scheme for the assessment of compliance with Web Accessibility and the award of a "quality mark" for accessibility the Web, according to the recommendations of the WAI WCAG.
Participants in this CEN Workshop came from 16 countries and 39 organizations represented. . A final agreement on the document with the European scheme was obtained in accordance with the procedure, the document called CEN Workshop Agreement No. 15554 is available on the CEN website. It presents the "Specifications for a Web Accessibility Conformity Assessment Scheme and a Web Accessibility Quality Mark" (Specifications for an evaluation plan for compliance with web accessibility and a quality brand of web accessibility).
